Royal Gorge Hanging Bridge

Hello

A while back, someone posted that they had a copy of the plans for the Royal Gorge hanging railroad bridge.

I am interested on knowing general dimensions of the span and general dimensions of the steel frame the bridge hangs on.

Thanks

It’s npt very big. Definitely under 100’ long. Two I beams from underneath almost to the opposite canyon wall with two short I beam sections for the ends of the first two to rest on. Sounds like a good way to justify a field trip to Colorado. When you get off the funicular at the bottom it is right there.

Here is a post from a few years ago :

Quite the construction project - and a very nice result!

Not sure if this will help or not, but here is a link to my Album on the Hanging bridge. I took a number of Photos when I went over the bridge a number of years ago. It’s not the plans, but hopefully it will give you a visual reference.
