Well the kids are about to head back to school. So let’s see them. The RR related photo’s you took on your vacation.
A lean year for me this year as I ripped a tire up early in the trip. This prevented going off to the middle of nowhere searching for long lost tunnels, bridges, turntables and snowsheds that are off the beaten track.
A bridge on the KVR between Rock Creek and Westbridge. Note the steel on the front of the pier to deflect all the trees and other stuff in the high water of Winter and Spring.
Post,em if ya got’em. I like to see where you’ve been this Summer.
Didn’t really take a vacation this summer, but did participate in a night photo shoot at the Rochester and Genesee Valley RR Museum a few weeks ago.
RG&E (Rochester Gas and Electric) #1941 has been in the restoration shop for several years being bought back to life and has had a cosmetic restoration as well. The last of the work on one of the 45 tonner’s prime movers is almost done, but she can move herself in and out of the building with no trouble. So here are couple photos from the night shoot of RG&E #1941.
On the way home I was able to stop in Weed, CA at the Roseburg Forest Products to shot some pics of the mill and found CORP’s GP38-3 #3809 sitting out front having a day off
I was also able to stop in at the Medford, OR office to shoot another mill there and found this watercar sitting idle
