The above a quick look. FEC can be very vunerable as several of its bridges are between 5 -20 feet above mean high tide. Hopefully FEC will not get any washouts.
Tri-Rail in south Florida has cancelled all trains and wonder if they will ferry equipment out of Hialeah yard ? Believe that the yard is less than 10 feet above MSL. As well what did Amtrak do for their trains there ?
CSX as well should be running all locos out of there.
The biggest problem for all these RRs may be removing trees from the tracks. Any where there are trees on the east side of the tracks the trees will fall onto the tracks since leading edge of Matthew will have winds directly from the east. Of course after eye passes some damaged trees on west side will foul tracks.
Amtrak better got Cars out of FL for this Bad Storm, We don’t need Viewliners cars out of service, because was dumb like NJT train set got damage in Sandy in 2012?
Current projections have the storm ‘raking’ the coast from Jupiter to Titusville and then turning out to sea and turning East when opposite the Carolinas and the going South again. Will be a concerning weekend for the SE US.
