RR Switch Lock.

[?] Recently I recieved a RR switch lock as a thank you gift. The lock is solid bronze . The body has a raised strip on one side that has letters stamped S.P.Co. , the right side has a date stamp 1-90. On the haspis the letter w o . There are no bolts or screws on the body , just two rivets . One on the hasp and one clamp for the rusty chain on the bottom. It was said to have been found by a metal detector some 20ft. from where a switch was. It don’t have the key and the key hole cover still swings open. ~~~ BIG Question, does any one know about this lock?? ~~~ switch keys are expensive , but this lock deserves one that works . I will find a puter guru to scan and post a pic of lock if needed. Respectfully , Cannonball

Let me know if you ever want to sell this lock. My husband has a key that I believe would fit it. He would never part with it as it has sentimental value. Would love to see a picture sometime though.

Something like the one on this webpage ?

Switch keys are harder to find nowadays but really not terribly expensive. Especially at shows. I got my BN Master for $5 bucks. Granted most will run you around $20-$30 bucks.

[:O] Paul; thank you for the return post of 5/24. One of the photos has a lock something like a pic. I now have a photo of my lock and will post that lock.I have a HP Photosmart with all the wires required . I also have a BN-INC key. Maybe that is who took over that switch where my lock was found. I am trying to put the transfer to the thread. I never thought the lock would generate any response.WOW!! Thanks to all you folks who showed interest. Untill then,Respectfully, Cannonball

Respectfully, Cannonball

The BN-INC are master keys, generally. The only lock I have found so far that it doesnt work on is a Wisconsin Central one, which a SOO master would not fit, but a regular SOO key would. Your BN key MAY fit, never hurts to try. Send me a pic and I can tell you who made it. I would assume Keline, but not an expert on SP locks.

[:)] coborn35; you were right about the master key. I gave the innards a squirt of WD40 and presto the hasp opened. The chain is rusted almost solid. Now taking more photos for positive ID of date? and other letters on the body and hasp. Then transfer to the thread(hopefully). ~~~ Respectfully, Cannonball

Here are a couple of pictures of Cannonball’s switch lock, he sent them to me to post over here.
