Railroad Worker Struck by Train

A local railroad employee is fighting for his life after he is struck by a train. It happened late Saturday night in Harvey County just outside of Newton.

Harvey County deputies say two trains were coming up on an intersection just south of Newton. The brakeman on the back of the first train somehow lost his balance and fell. Deputies say the second train hit him.

The victim, a 24-year-old man from Newton, was taken by helicopter to a Wichita hospital. He is listed in critical condition. His name has not been released.

Story here

This has been a very tragic accident for us in Newton, I ask that you pray for his speedy recovery, we have a smaller terminal here in newton about 150 people very hard for some of us. I don’t have much to add to the story right now we just hope he recovers from his very serious injury.

Always a huge shock when something like this happens. As always be safe out there and look out for your fellow workers.
