Now that athearn/roundhouse/horizon/ has retooled their rs-3, does anyone know if it will run on as good as an atlas, as they’re bringing out a new batch also?
I have an Atlas and an MDC kit. The MDC kit have has a Proto2000 drive, not Athearn - I believe it’s from the P2K FA. The trucks are actually way nicer than the Atlas one - my Atlas is the older kato one. The Atlas/Kato runs great, but the MDC is no slouch, it’s more than adequate. I dunno what drive they’re going to put in them now - I would hope as a minimum the same as the new Athearn RTR stuff, the old Blue Box drive would be a step backwards compared to the later MDC kits like mine.
