Where can I find the small rubber lugs that mount the Athearn Blue Box motors to the farme? This is for the F-7 locomotive (I should think they were all the same; but, don’t know for sure.
Gidday, I presume that you are referring to; Athearn P?No: 84020, motor mount pad , here’s a link…

… without wishing to be facetious and not knowing which part of the States you live, if you “Google” the part number you should come up with several pages of suppliers, one of whom may be closer to you or who you may have dealt with in the past…
Cheers, the Bear.
I do not know how helping someone could be termed “facetious”;or, what the state I live in has to do with anything! I didn’t have the Part Number for the parts I need. I did not know that: if I had the Part Number I could google that P/N and find a source for what I need!
Thank you, very much JABEAR!
You can get the part directly from Athearn.
Again, thank you to everyone! I spent a fair amount of time attempting to run down the P/N of these little parts and had no luck. I do not have the instruction’s for my F-7s which were built 25 years ago, so without the P/N I would have been out of luck!
The HOseeker website shows a lot of the Athearn diagrams. There are several F7 models listed: http://www.hoseeker.org/athearn.htm
I believe that some where along the way Athearn changed those things from rubber to a hard plastic. You can see a picture of the 84020 mounting pad here: http://www.athearn.com/Search/Default.aspx?CatId=THCR&SearchTerm=84020. It is shown as a white plastic piece.
I don’t know whether or not the rubber item is still available, or if it had the same part number.
What you need is part # ATH84028 which is hard plastic with screws that hold the mount in place. This does 2 motors. Athearn also lists part # ATH84027 and ATH84026 these are 24 screws and 12 mounts enough for 6 mototrs. I belive you can order them from Athearn or if you have a LHS they can order them for you. These are a LOT better than the old push in place mounts. Joe
Again, thanks to those who responded. Right now I’m considering maybe I’d be best off if I were to buy a complete Athearn F-7 locomotive off of Ebay; or, other. That way, in addition to the four rubber/plastic motor mounts, I’d have a complete set of replacement parts for these older Athearn locomotives.
Anyone have one they’ld like to sell?
Many of the parts on the newer Athearn bb F7 will fit on the older one. In fact you can take everything off a new frame and put it on one of the old frames. The only real difference in the frames is the coupler mounting pads and the absence of the bonfire-in-the-cab headlight mount.
