Rule 17 Programming MRC Decoders

I have spent a good part of the morning searching for specifics to programming MRC decoders to allow Rule 17 lighting effects.

I have all MRC Sound Decoders

1959

1905

1906

Has anyone programmed the following decoders for a Rule 17 EFX?

Looking through the manuals for those models there doesn’t seem to be any mention of supporting Rule 17 lighting. One thing I’ve come to realize over the last 16 years of DCC is that if the paperwork doesn’t say it, it doesn’t have it. There’s a ton of sounds to play with though.

Thanks Martin, I was hoping that wasn’t what it would mean with the lack of R-17 statements :frowning:

But they do have a lot of sounds, I am going to need to turn the GenSet down, as it drowns out my thinking :slight_smile:

One way around this would be to add a second, function-only decoder like a TCS FL2 to control just the headlights. It supports Rule 17 lighting.
