While I think that it is great for MR to share information like this, it would also be nice if instead of just providing modern era rules, that data for earlier eras, especially for the transition era could be included as well. Many things have changed and the current rules are not all the same as they were back in the 1950’s. Thanks.

49 CFR can give you the current regulations. The book on my desk is about four inches thick. It reads like a typical bureacratese book in other words boring. However, it governs hazmat transportation and understanding is imperative. I have tried to Google what hazmat regs were in the 50s but not much luck. I think MR could do a n article on hazmat handling for model trains. It could add operational challenges to a layout.
