Runaway Locomotive

Just curious if anyone seen the video of the runaway loco on the news last night. Someone had a video of that sucker crusing thru a small rail all by itself. I think it was in Argentina. It went 100 miles before it go stopped and hit three cars.

Saw it in Chicago. Looked like it should have fallen apart years ago. As rough as the track was I’m surprised it got that far.

Does anyone has a link to it?[tup]

Any link?

There is a bit here, but I don’t think the runaway loco is in the picture-

I believe it was grey and yellow.

I saw the news previews for that when I was watching Ice Age and was like “Ooo I wanna see that” so I was suckered into watching the news and somehow I managed to miss that part! Stupid News! [banghead]

Knock RUNAWAY TRAIN ARGENTINA into google and enjoy the little engine that could (and DID).

Thanks for the links. I attach the actual footage of the locomotive. The newscaster in Spanish said, " The employees try twice to stop the locomotives but the speeds reach 70khn". They stop at the end of the run. http://www.tn.com.ar/mm.aspx?id=803015

Check the website see yourself.[:O]

This clip is in English-

5557 is an EMD GA8, and it was stopped by one of ALL’s RSD-16s
This is an overview of America Latin Logistica-Central’s locomotives-http://www.rrdc.com/article_03_2005_ALL_Central_Latin_Tracks.pdf

Interesting video- and good in cab shots. Was that an ALCO that helped stop that poor ole EMD?

Yes, they took another locomotive and attach the other locomotive as it was running. [:O]

nice video, should have figured it would get posted here! [banghead]
