For the last two days I have been running trains with Pop, aka Buckeye. In order to run trains with Pop you gotta wear the engineer’s suit. Here I am in my suit. I carry a flashlight in case of a wreck.
Pop has a suit like mine!! He says the Chief has a suit too, but he isn’t as handsome as I am in the engineer’s suit.
Here I am using the CAB-1 to run the Santa Train. Santa is the second car. I ran the train fast with the CAB-1.
Pop makes me sit on the stool when I run the trains. This way I can see everything and not run into another train.
I am going to leave Pop and go to the Chief’s. He has Legacy. Pop is still stuck in the old days of TMCC. Also the Chief has DCS so we run lots of trains from different companies. The Chief also has the Train Box so we can go hangout without interruption from Mom and Grandmom. [Y] Drink lots of Mountain Dew and stay awake for days. [:(!]
Another thought. I could go out to CA and stay with Shake and Bake as he use to drive a REAL train until he tried to fly out the engine’s cab. He could teach me to drive a REAL train. [Y] [or how to really hurt myself [:-^]]
This thread is excellent for so many different reasons. Thank you it, Buckeye.
We tend to get caught up in the day to day responsibilities, challenges, pressures, and setbacks. But when all of that is behind us, as it inevitably will be, it is moments like these that both young and old carry forward. Memories that last a lifetime.
I know this thread brought me back six decades when Santa Dad surprised me with my first Lionel train. Our family did not have a lot of money, so his gift must have hurt. And Santa Dad worked twelve hour days six days a week. Yet he made the time to spend with his wife and children as best he could.
I need to constantly remind myself that quality time spent with the little ones and family is the greatest gift we can offer. Thanks again, Buckeye. You really put it all in perspective.
We steer clear of the newer control methods. At a train show, while I was looking for a Lionel LW, the grandson spotted a ZW under a table and shouted,“Get this one Pops”, as he worked the throttles.
