Running Conventional and Legacy on My Layout

I am currently in the process of building an O-scale 3-rail layout. So far it consists of two pieces of plywood, end-to-end, with a gap in the middle for my K-Line swing bridge and my Lionel bascule bridge.

I’m don’t know a whole lot about wiring yet and I was wondering if I could operate my layout in a way that I could flip a switch to choose whether I was running the whole layout with Legacy, the whole layout conventional, or one part Legacy and one part conventional.

Is this possible? If so, what do I need to do to make it work.

If you don’t power up the command base the layout will be in conventional mode. If you disconnect the antenna lead from the command base at the command base side, the layout will run in conventional mode.

Re mixed mode operation, what power supplies are you using.
