Finally got around to painting my concrete tie code 55 and all things considered it went pretty well. As was stated in earlier posts I could see how the foam rollers would wear out quickly but I had to use the hard plastic disk and it did not wear out and I did a little over 200’ of track. Took about 4 hours and am glad it is done.

I love that photo. I would love to see more of your BNSF Trains. Please post more.
Guy, nice photo and the trackwork looks mighty fine! YES, mighty fine!
I must ask though; what is this rail painter you speak of? Somthing new, that actually works? I’ve been using a brush and / or an air brush…Seems there has to be a better way.

Checkout www.joesmodeltrains.com there you will find the painter and the paint. Basically it is a pnuematic needle that has been flattened on the end and a hole drilled at the edge of the wheel for the paint to come through and the other end is fastened to a bottle cap. May not be for everybody but it worked in my application. They’re on ebay from time to time also…same price though.
Yes it is…Peco code 55.
Did you paint your “creme and green” or adding to it. I’m looking for paint to match the colors…

bnfsncoal: I finely got around to checking the website for the rail painter. This thing looks interesting, for sure.
You mentioned that you painted 200’ of rail…I’m curious. Assuming you are using Joe’s paints, how much coverage do you get from a bottle of paint?
