The discussion below sent me googling “Rutland Railroad Addison Branch”. I came across a model layout of a Green Rutland Alco on the branch. Of course, I’m sure that branch was the one part of the Rutland that never saw a diesel. The branch shut down in May of 1951. The picture in Jim Shaughnessy’s book shows the last mixed pulled by an ancient 4-6-0.
Of course, in a model layout, one may take liberties. I’m just more into the real thing. To each his own.
