(Raleigh, NC) December 23, 2012 – Dave’s Twacks & Twains has completed negotiations to purchase the parts inventory and shop tools from the former S Helper Service Repair Department of Cliffwood, New Jersey. The sale includes all of the remaining parts from the Cliffwood facility as well as the shop tools and fixtures.

As Dave’s Twacks and Twains assimilates its new inventory, the owners! anticipate being ready with SHS parts, repair and customer service on March 1, 2013. The service will include repairs to all S Helper items along with DCC and Sound installs.

“Barb and Clay have been providing quality services to S gaugers all over the world for years”. “We are happy that our repairs will continue in the hands of two of the finest customer service people we know” said Don Thompson.

Dave’s Twacks and Twains was founded more than twenty five years ago to promote and share the heritage of the A.C. Gilbert company with displays at train shows, senior residences and children’s hospitals. During this time Dave’s has become a reliable source of S gauge trains and repair parts. The mission is to exceed customer expectations in both parts and repair in the tradition of A. C. Gilbert and now S Helper Service.

Until I moved my office to the Chillicothe VA Medical Center in 1998, my office layout was a double loop American Flyer. After my move and setting up in a special room beside my office, I switched to O-27, as far too many patients were tempted to touch the trains and Flyer was becoming expensive and difficult to find.

I still have several Flyer sets as well as extra engines, rolling stock and accessories. It is good to know parts when needed will be available.
