Perhaps the cash-rich entertainment company known as the NBA should use some of that TV money to invest locally to make the game experience better for their fans.
$500,000 translates to only 0.33-0.38% of the cost if it is expected to cost $130-150 million. If this counts under that law as taking ‘reasonable steps’ towards contributing to this project, that is absolutely absurd. In other words it’s 1/3 a cent for every hundred dollars spent. Barely a contribution at all.
Did I understand this right? Sacremento leaders want the rest of the U.S. to pay HALF the cost of a street car line to serve NBA teams desire to make their business really profitable? I am getting a headache. . .
Pardon me Mr. Chandler, but isn’t there a streetcar system being built in your home state of GA in Atlanta? Let’s be fair now. And yes, I’ll admit we have one here in Tampa Bay where I live at in FL. We both had our turns. Don’t complain!
