Sad news..My Digitrax Zephyr died :-(

Hi,
I got a used Digitrax Zephyr for X-mass and it was working fine. Suddenly out of blue sky it died on me. I smell a burning inside. I am very sad, this was the best thing I got so far for my train set. Did this happened to you and can this be repaired?
Mo:-(

Give Digitrax a call. You’ll be well taken care of.

[:O][V] That is sad. I agree that Digitrax should have a look at it. It may cost you $40 to get it fixed, or maybe only shipping. Always worth a phone call.

Mo,

That’s a bummer! What were you doing when the unit stopped? You weren’t trying to roast marshmellows with it, were you? I think roasting marshmellows with your Zephyr actually nullfies the warranty. Is that right, Crandell?

In any event, Mo, give Digitrax a call and elaborate what was going on when the unit died. Keep us posted…

My Zephyr died last year. I strongly advise that you call them rather than try and do this via e-mail. The service I received and the speed of the repair was excellent. In my case they just replaced the main processor board. There was a cost to me as my Zephyr was well out of warranty, but it did not strike me as unreasonable. Anyway, for fastest response call.

Where was it purchased? If it’s less than a month old, I’m sure any reputable dealer will simply replace it free of charge. This one is clearly a “birth defect” and should be fully covered under anyone’s warrantee. The dealer can send it back to Digitrax, and they’ll take care of it.

The manual says it’s okay as long as you don’t exceed the voltage. They add that if their snuff-o-meter detects any graham wafer or chocolate molecules that the warranty is voided.

Can we get s’more information on what you were doing when this happened.[:D]

Good one, HD…[(-D]

I had 16 volts to my program track in august. I sent it back to digitrax and they sent me a new one free. All I had to pay was a couple bucks to ship it there. Digitrax service is great so dont despair!
