Sad Story

GET THIS!!! Every day now, on the UP Geneva sub, all 3 CNW roll down it. I went to Elmhurst last Saturday, looked tword Proviso, and saw a CNW. I then let to my car to get my big lense, I don’t know diameters, but when I come back, they are gone. > close, > CLOSE!!! Then it is gone. I bet that when I go to Elmhurst again on Saturday the same *** thing will happen. Barden my language, but I am pissed off now. I haven’t seen a leading CNW unit is about 7 years.

I saw EMD 3 and didn’t manage to get a picture of it this time around. It happens. If you worry too much about what you didn’t get, you’ll never truly appreciate what you did get.

I’m sure any one of us could tell a sad story about " The One That Got Away "[:(!].

Yuppers, everyone has a “One That Got Away” story. One of mine happened when I was on Septa. I wasn’t out railfaning that day, but I was traveling along the R8 line, which makes a little trip over the NEC. Anyway, when I got on the NEC I saw a coal drag Union Pacific with two SD90MACH II locomotives on the point. I thought that was so very weard. CSX, and NS don’t even run long haul, slow freights on the NEC but, here was the UP with a long coal train, doing about 10 mph, on the NEC heading out of North Philadelphia. I also thought it was weird to see two UP SD90MACH IIs on the point instead of seeing two UP AC44CWs. I wished I had my camera then but, I didn’t. That would of been a good shot too. Oh well…

I saw the UP 3300 in 2001, didn’t get a picture, thought I’d never see it again, then I had herd reports of a DW&P SD40-2 in Alorton, I had gone railfanning…and thought a DWP unit wouldn’t be bad…I went over there ON A WIM, and sitting there was none other than the Union Pacific 3300 United Way locomotive…

The next week I saw UP 2002, and three weeks later, BNSF 9647

Hey don’t worry I missed them as well. You’ll see them again.
