so im curious what safety rules would you put in place if you were moving hazmat on your train and what would you keep in the train room besides an extinguisher
As a Haz Mat endorsed commercial driver, there is no way that I would put any hazmat on my model trains, there is absolutely no legitimate reason to do so
If it is designated as a Hazmat, there is a REASON for that designation. With some exceptions such as Explosives, TIH (Toxic Inhalation Hazard) Radioactive and some others, you are not likely to be handling most hazmat in reportable quantities.
I can’t imagine you actually having any hazmat, that would be a reportable quantity, that a model railroad of less than 7.25/7.50” gauge could transport
All that said, it gets back to there being No Legitimate Reason to transport any hazmat with model railroad equipment, Why would you even Consider it?
Doug
cause we move c02 bottles(as you said in small quantitys) as well as fireworks for mining and other random general items such as water beads(dangerous when wet) and various other items
just like when i bought that pepsi truck i didnt get the lock open til i got home whole trailer was full of .22 ammo lol happy day for me i only payed 5 for the truck the ammo was a freebee but i had fun shooting aluminum cans that day.
anyhow we do keep proper visable placarding on our cars and a f/e on hand but what other safety devices should we have?
