I found that my hopper car is Athearn as the spine is plastic not cast metal. It looks as if the original owner installed Kadee #5’s. The hole in the shank is too large for the post of the coupler pocket. Therefore, the coupler doesn’t center properly. What can be done? Put a very thin sleeve of some slippery material? Change to a different Kadee?
Any thoughts?
