Sale could be in future for Carolina Southern Railroad
This is great news, I spent several days in that region and enjoyed the Carolina Southern. It was cool seeing the “rainbow fleet of locomotives” pulling a unit coal train. The GP-18’s and B units, mixed with a GP-30 and GP-38’s was nice to see. I hope service can be restored soon.
Article states:
“…lack the funds to undertake federally mandated bridge repairs. Federal grant applications were denied, despite the support of state and local agencies…”

The trucker’s highway bridge would not suffer the same fate.
Watch the bike people chomp at the bit for the rail line in hope for a new bike trail.
