San Diego reveals long-term rail plan
It’s interesting that they contemplated the CA HSR to San Ysidro, CA (border) and Otay Mesa, without EVEN mentioning anything about extending the Coaster and Amtrak to San Ysidro, as well!.. The San Diego Trolley light rail Blue Line is already CROWDED as of today… Even after the Trolley Renewal project! They need to enable the Coronado Branch (National City to Imperial Beach as a commuter and freight railroad with a flyover around Main Street and/or Palm Avenue to Connect it with the SD&AE main/blue line into San Ysidro… Sooner, or later…
San Diego is certainly one city that knows how to keep up with the times and its plans for the future. Compared to where I live in Tampa Bay in Florida, we are dismally behind in the in the distant past.
