San Joaquin Valley Railroad began on Jan. 2, 1992 with a collection of branch lines formerly owned by Southern Pacific. Later on it aquired some former ATSF lines which were called the Tulare Valley RR. SJVR operates between Bakersfield and Fresno, California. When it started the had 50 miles of track, 25 customers and 20 employees and now has about 312 miles of track, with 75 employees and over 200 customers.
Here are some pictures of their power.

nanaimo73 and ericsp,
Would like to cut and paste your postings to a mail list. Is it OK?

Fine with me Jim.
It is fine with me.
If you have the American Shortline Railway Guide, 5th Edition, look up San Joaquin Valley Railroad, Port Railroads, and Tulare Valley Railroad, unfortunately the information is 9 years old. From what I can tell TVRR is not affiliated with SJVR, they just contract with SJVR to operate the lines they have not removed.
