Great to see the pieces coming together as everyone works together toward the common good. California needs to be the example for the rest of the nation when it comes to integrated rail.
Our family and in-laws took the Star Light down to Disneyland, and can’t wait to go back after the Artic station is finished, and see all of the progress along the way!

This will be the first electrified heavy rail line to serve passengers since the Milwaukee Road. Electrified service ended in 1974, although passenger sevice ended years earlier.

I hope they don’t forget about all those stops between SF and SJ.

Little do most people realize that San Jose is growing rapidly and is now the tenth most populous city in the nation. This would be a good starter section for California’s high-speed rail working its way southward from the northern end.It would do well for both business and San Francisco’s popular tourist industry.

Fantastic… not only is it good for commuters, and the HSR project, it is GREAT for the Bay Area, as it will help improve air quality, while reducing noise along the tracks. But most importantly, it will greatly reduce operating expenses, by as much as 80% if memory serves me.

I remember f.m.trainmasters and torpedo boat geeps, those were the days, unless of course you were around for pacifics and northerns.

Isn’t it just marvelous that the very thought of the California politicians appropriating money for this worthy project simply do NOT have any money in the bank to properly fund this ambitious scheme. The state is broke and has many outstanding obligations from politicians promising too much and not having the revenue to cover their commitments. (Just like Greece in the Euro Zone.)
