I’m trying to find plans for a sand bin and house,so I can make an attept to scratch build one. I know there are kits available, but they don’t catch the the look of a branch line, I don’t seem to be having any luck on the web so far.Any body know where I can get dementions and or pictures, needless to say any help would be gratly appreciated.[:D][:D]

I can recommend a couple books. Steam Locomotive Coaling Stations and Diesel Locomotive Fueling Facilities and Locomotive Terminals and Railroad Structures.
They don’t have measured drawings, but good photos and information. You can custom make it to fit your location. It should be very simple to build from the photos.
Can’t help you on the dimensions but I can say the kit that I built has a crappy looking sand bin. The tower and building look OK but I plan on scratch building a new bin.

Thanks Gsetter,got some info and found an article in the August issue of MRC 1988 called build a sand house, so I’ll give it a look,maybe what I need.
