Very nicely done layout.
And, a great “how to” article.
Nice articles, with great pictures Denny…[tup]
Dennis, I have a question: was the series intended from the start to touch only lightly on the details of the techniques involved?
Palallin,
Obviously, in a 4-part magazine series it would be difficult to include an in depth look at all the techniques involved in creating a layout of that scope. However, I was disappointed with what was omitted in the January issue. There was a lot of pertinent information that never made it to print. I do think February and March had a nice balance.
The direct answer to your question is no–not as far as I was concerned.
Dennis
Thanks Dennis, and CTT for putting this together! I learned a great deal from the articles!
I would have liked additional details, but I think I can figure out, with a little trial and error, how to accomplish what you did.

Dennis,
Really enjoyed your article and especially the "look’ you achieved with your design concepts. I have filed these away as I consider a rebuild of my present layout. I have obtained a bascule bridge and a 213 lift bridge as I wish to achieve s nice waterfront effect as you have done.
CTT - How about a PDF that contains everything that Dennis intended for inclusion?
I’ve not yet received my Feb/Mar issue so I can’t comment on that segment, but what I’ve seen so far has been great - can only imagine how much better it would be if there was stuff omitted.
Dennis [tup] EXCELLENT WORK!
Better yet, how about a book with augmented discussions of the techniques!
I enjoyed the entire series and really learned from it. You did a great job on that layout, Dennis. Very realistic, and highly detailed.
