I will be in Napa and will go to Oakland to see “street running” trains; I think also to go to Santa Cruz, Ca next summer.
Beside the “street runing” of the Santa Cruz Big Trees and Pacific Railway going through/over the Boardwalk, are they still other trains(freight) passing over the Boardwalk?
I found some pictutures of freight trains going through the Boardwalk.
Are they other points of railroading intrest in the vicinity of Napa, San Francisco, Santa Cruz…
Where can I see the BART trains running in daylight?(I saw somewhere a picture of a BART train running between a highway)
If you are going to Santa Cruz, Big Trees and Roaring Camp RR is a MUST RIDE attraction. Its just a couple miles north of Santa Cruz in Felton, Ca.

Oh, you can ride the Santa Cruz RR train up from the Boardwalk to Roaring Camp, that’s what’s more you can ask for [:D]
Seriously this is a great way to spend the day.
Also if you have the time, Niles Canyon Railroad east of San Jose is very good also, lots of historic rail equipement still in use, and the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento is another of those MUST SEE attractions if your in the neighborhood.
