Does 3751 have the on-board capability to interact with the latest and greatest in signalling? That’s the usual reason why the lead unit in a multi-railroad diesel consist is always home road.
Sure looks good to see that cloud of water vapor and know that it actually passed through cylinders on the way to the atmosphere. Note, too - smokeless firing, as required by the California Smog Gestapo.
I’d love to see her locally. I doubt that the UP shares my desire, and they’re the only game in town.

I haved to wonder if it’s more likely dynamic brake to keep from severe brake wear on the abbreviated Amtrak consist with the substantial locomotive weight (and limited brake foundation) considering there are only four axles on the Genesis.
