Okay now I’m gonna be honest with you, being a teenager that has loved trains since I was five, I haven’t really been able to follow as much train related topics as I’d like. So when I started see BNSF engines a couple years back I figured that Burlington Northern and Santa Fe had a merger, is this true? Whos the head of it?
And since I was a kid I’ve had a little HO layout in my basement that I plan to expand in the future years to come, I want to model the Santa Fe branch thats located in Chicago specifically the South side not far from Midway Airport and the yard between Archer Rd. and I-55, does anybody have any information on this branch?
Try this link for BN and Santa Fe merger information…or just click on the Trains Magazine logo at the top of the page, type in Railroad Mergers in the search engine, and go exploring…
Bn and Sf merged in 96 and have created a major network based out of ft.worth texas .I work on the BNSF as a conductor 'great road to model with all the paint variations .I have been modeling the BN for 26 years or so and would love to help you since when I started it was hard to get help 'had to learn it on my own.
