Santa Fe No. 3751 steams to San Bernardino

3751 looks good, as always. I rode behind her on the grand Canyon Ltd. excursion last spring. That was a great experience. Go 3751!

I would love to see the ATSF 3751 travel on former ATSF tracks to Chicago with stops along the way. Since BNSF now owns these tracks, this would be good PR for BNSF as well. UP has a steam program as well as a Streamliner. NS has a Streamliner. BNSF has no Steam and no Streamlined locomotives. The 3751 would be a great idea for a steam excursion!

I rode Saturdays trip LA-San Berdo, ticketed on the beautifully restored “Overland Trail” (www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J0uxknLGUc). Most of my trip was spent in the coach car vestibule listening to the engine and whistle as we sped East. Metrolink was active so the excursion was making time and only made one stop for a Metro train. From El Monte to SB there’s one crossing after another (whistle blowing) not to mention the engine sounds bouncing off the numerous commercial buildings lining the track. Steam at its best!
