The Santa Fe’s Los Angeles to Kansas City via Raton Pass main line will be in HO scale and the period is will be December 1953-1960 when the Santa Fe quit steam altogether in favor of diesel locomotives.
What? Why the need for another thread?
Interesting time period to choose. Lots of change from year to year during this time.
Paint scheme changes; Catwhisker to Cigarband to Bookends. Zebra Stripe to Bookends as well.
Passenger train changes including combining trains and blunt end obs.
And the end of steam.
You’ll run into some trouble modeling the northern Arizona portion of the line, as this went through a dramatic change in 1960. Crookton Cutoff.
Like I said, lots of change in less then a decade.
