Saturday Trackside Photo

Every Saturday, my local railfans hang out at “Big Lou’s Grill” to shoot pics of thier favorite Loco’s:

Nice pic i think the railfans are competing with you pics, Great place to shoot photo’s and watch trains. can you give me direction to this place :stuck_out_tongue:

Another great shot Bob!

A suggestion - if you had focused on the front of the Shay rather than on the hill in the background, more of the main subject would have been in focus.

Bob, I offer this suggestion in view of your clear desire to provide an exquisite viewing experience to the viewer: would you consider sooting up the apex of your tunnel portal? I look for this detail whenever I see steamers in and around tunnel portals, and it is important. I used a heavy wash of flat black acrylic artist’s paint and applied it with a small brush in a series of strokes. It turned out quite well, and should for you.

Excellent idea! I’ll post pics when I add that detail.

Thanks for the tip.
Bob.

Edit: Just added “soot” to one of my tunnel portals per your suggestion. And you were right!. It really adds alot to the overall scene. Now I can do the rest of them. Thanks once more for the great tip.

Bob…

Heyy Bob! Nice Lookin Pic! is that the cattle car with sound? awesome pic i love it!

I think that is better. Chalk or dry brush would have put more color on the stones themselves which is where the smoke would have collected.

Looks Great Bob and once again, Thanks for the posts

Bob, again great job!

Wow, I knew to add the exhaust marks on tunnels and such. I cant belive Bob missed that… Well, atleast now I know Bob is human. Whew!!

Sorry, [:)] I coulnt help being a[:o)] on that.

Has yoru railroad ever been featured Bob in a magazine? Its Amazing.
I most blown away by the water pics wit the boat. Those were incredible.
