First thing, I need some info, educate me and others. Provide all the info you can about the WMSR and why we should help and what we can do.
Since I am not a resident of your state and know nothing about what is going on please provide links and info.

The decision to stop this much loved steam engine route in W MD was made with no public notification-- due to enormous outcry, a county committee was formed to see if a plan can be devised to keep the RR going–
It feels as if our local gov’t is abandoning the WMSR in favor of the Allegheny Highland trail.
–undoubtedly the biketrail will bring some revenue to the area, but NOT to the the extent expected & we are about to lose our awesome train when the train & the trail can surely exist together…
–since its considered a tourist attraction, & thought i’d start a petition as a show of support for our Frostburg train (The Scenic RR is not closing entirely, its just changing its route to go from one part of Cumberland to another , while the route from Cumberland to Frostburg is a truly incredible trip & is the leg being discontinued)- I’d like to present the appointed committee wiith a petition showing we love our railroads & dont have to lose it to have the biketrail as well-
