Save This Caboose!!

http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=99039

God I hope somebody with money or some group can save this
caboose if it is indeed awaiting the scrapper’s torch! It sure
looks like it’s in good enough shape for restoration.

Will somebody with money please save it??!!

“God” and religion? Is someone preaching ‘salvation’ for cabooses? Whatever was the cabooses’ sin?

Is there not a C.B. & Q. Historical Society ?
Maybe you should contact them.

I am in this case. It’s parked at a scrap yard.

I just did - I posted it here too so maybe I could reach a wider
audience.

Good job,Hope that will help to save something that is quite
rapidly disappearing.

I hope they save it too and other fallen flag caboose .

If anybody wants to know there is a Family Line Caboose for sale in McCormic,SC I got a pic of it but I don’t think it’s on a CD

That is good to hear,Hopefully,a little bit of ‘history’ will get saved.

Hopefully somebody will save it! It’s quite remarkable that it’s still in it’s original CB&Q paint. It’s always sad to see any piece of railroad equipment meet the scrapper’s torch, but I can’t get over the fact that there are scrapyards that will actually cut up perfectly good cabooses. Unlike other rolling stock, cabooses are in demand from many people and are used to serve many purposes and there is a large market for them outside of railfans, railroad museums, etc.

Ok, what is the word? Is the caboose SAVED now or what?

I travel from Minneapolis to St. Cloud every weekend. I have seen this caboose several times parked at the scrap yard. They have been cutting up BN boxcars that apparently were part of a derail. They have a large quantity of wheel/axle (s) stacked in their yard also.

If I were 20 years younger, I would try to buy it but too old now for big projects. It looks like it is in pretty good shape from the road.
