To be blunt, Boston has relativley little in the way of trains!
You are saying you saw an Amtrak Facility and CSX. The two areas are quite a distance apart. I’m guessing you saw the CSX at BPY (Beacon Park) Yard. Its the yard in Alliston near the Pike’s Alliston/Brighton Tolls.
The Amtrak Facility was probably just south of South Station. I’m asuming you say it from I-93?
What time were you heading home?
CSX freights heading Eastbound to Boston usually arrive at BPY between 7 and 9 PM.
If you drive by the Yard Eastbound on Soldier’s Field, you can see the CSX units real up close.

yes, the yard by BU is BPY.
On an average day in san bernidino you’ll see as many as 20 engines in the yards sitting around
as long as it was csx it all good
