Saw the ExactRail Trinity TrinCool reefer at the Galesburg Train Show

The car is reviewed in the August issue of MR. I am not modeling the current era but man was I tempted by this car – saw the model at the train show and then the prototype in the BNSF yard from the Thirlwell St Bridge.

A really nice job, with lots of intricate detail near the refrigeration unit. What it needs is a sound system! This looked like one of the most impressive RTR cars I have seen.

I picked up a couple about a month or so ago and they are great… only issue I had was since the wheels are set in more the couple will ride up and down more when my train goes up a grade so I switched out the coupler with one that is set a bit higher and no problems.

Musta missed you then at the show. It is a nice car. Just passing word along though, apperantly the BNSF models are not the same car though. Which is a shame, but short of any announcements anytime soon, I’m gonna go hunting for CryTrains decvals and fake it anyway…

I picked one up a month or so ago and like it.

As noted in another post, BLMA models also just released the same cars.

The Trincool car by Exactrail is worth every bit of the $27 I paid for mine. IMHO, by far the best offering from ExactRail to date.

It is worth mentioning, that BLMA has just released their Trincool 64’ ft Reefer (Identical car) and it too, is available in 24 road #'s as a Phase III car.

The BLMA car is constructed differently than the Exactrail, but are very hard to distinguish one from another, when placed side by side. It is also worth mentioning that the BLMA car is on average, about $4 less than the Exactrail offering.

Both are great additions and very well done.
