I recently ordered some Scalecoat paint. Since this will be my first time using Scalecoat, and since I did not research it, I was unaware that Scalecoat 1 is intended for use on brass and wood. Has anyone tried putting on a coat of another paint, then Scalecoat 1 on polystyrene? If so, how did it turn out? The information on Scalecoat’s website leads me to believe this will work, but it is not definitive.
Scalecoat I used to melt your plastic. Scalecoat II was designed for plastic. It dried to a gloss suitable for decals. NEW Scalecoat I don’t know.
Both have been replaced by EPA approved Acryillics. Read the directions.
Thanks, it looks like perhaps an e-mail to Scalecoat is in order.
I used Floquil primer before using Scalecoat I on plastic models without any problems.
And I will not used water based paints EPA or not.
