The cynic in me says that corruption is heartbeat of the capitalist economic system. Why settle for a reasonable company profit when you can twist a arm or two and turn a personal profit in addition. Greed has no bounds.
Having worked in Chicago ( for several years, and traveling from home and back and forth) before retiring; it rewarding to know that “The Chicago way” is still being practiced there,locally. [:-^]
Just look at former Illinois Speaker Mike Madigan. He literally was named by the federal government in the Comed indictment as Public Offical 1 that receivied bribes from the company. An estimated 200 million dollars worth of crap.
