Scanner fr.

Going to be railfanning Janesville,Duplansville,Grayslake and Roundout areas next month and was wondering if anyone can provide me with the Scanner frequincies for CN,CP,Wisconsin Southern and ICE.I would appreciate any help!Thank You!

Go to Trackside Guide and look under CSX Radio Freq. all the info you need will be there.

I can help you out with the Janesville and Duplainville areas anyway.

In Janesville the main two I know are the WSOR and the IC&E:

WSOR: 160.575 (road)
WSOR: 161.145 (yard)

Both channels are used around the area depending upon what’s going on.

The ICE in the Janesville area and on the Chicago Subdivision (the main line across Illinois) use 161.085. One thing to note though is when they arrive the WSOR yard in Janesville they use the WSOR yard channel to communicate with the dispatcher.

There’s also a UP yard in Janesville, though I’m not sure which channel they operate on.

Over at Duplainville, there are two main frequencies to monitor. The CN main line is 161.295, and the CP main line is 161.520. The area WSOR lines use the same frequencies as above. One other channel to monitor might be the UP Frequency for the Adams line: 160.890. This line is just a little ways North of Duplainville, and only sees a few trains a day, but occasionally you may hear a train get a warrant out of Butler yard.

Hope that helps!
