I have hundreds of Model Railroading magazines, and too many laying around with post it notes marking articles that I marked for reference. I wanted to pack most of these away, but still have easy access to the articles that I know I want to refer to in the near future. I have a scanner that has a scan to PDF feature, it’s an Epson Scanner. Today I spent about 2 hours collecting many of these articles into PDF’s. This way I don’t destroy the magazine by cutting out the articles that interest me, and I don’t have 50 Model Railroad magazines laying in a pile next to my bed or lounge chair. Just thought I’d pass this on and see if anyone else is doing something similar. Dave
Not for magazines, but yes, for a book out of print. You may want to take things a step further if you have access to Acrobat professional by OCR’ing the images. This will allow text search against the files.
