SCARM question

Went to the website and my virus protection went ballistic. Wouldn’t even let me get on the web page saying there was known problems that would cause serious problems. Anyone else get this or has anyone downloaded the program recently?

Gidday, downloaded the programme a month ago and the only problem I’ve had is to find the time to teach my “technological luddite” mind how to work it.
Seriously though and while I don’t really have anything to compare with, my antivirus is fairly robust.
Cheers, the Bear.

Curious, I went to www.scarm.info/ site and got no security messages. I didn’t do anything there.

You use Norton, don’t you?

I’m convinced it doesn;t really do much of anythong other than scare the beejesus out of you so you never do anything even remotely risky, therefore keeping your computer virus-free. Every time they release a new version of JMRI, the JMRI list gets flooded with similar messages saying “My Norton AV says there is a virus on the download site”

I’m also thinking Peter Norton wishes he had never sold out. If you remember back to the DOS days, Norton Utilities was THE essential tool for every tech. A superior product and highly useful.

I’ve heard this from others as well, but I use it and have down loaded updates no problem, as so has hundreds of other people. I " think " SCARM being so close to " SCAM ", that Norton kicks it ( most complaints I have heard were Notrton user’s ).
