Scenery Question...

I am using Woodland Scenic risers with my Lionel O gauge tubular track. What is the best way to fastnen the track to the risers? I have covered all my risers with plaster cloth and on top of that I have put on the Woodland Scenic Roadbed using foam tack glue. What is a good technigue to secure the track to the roadbed? This is a big leap for me since the rest of my layout is flat. Again, thanks for all your help in advance. You have always come up with a solution.

I’ve never used the system, nor know anyone that has, but will the material hold a screw? Even if the screw isn’t secure enough to be permanent maybe it’ll hold long enough for the track to be secured using an adhesive.

Let us know what works when you find a method.

Low temp hot melt glue? You might be able to find some screws with a narrow shank but coarse threading that would work in the foam. Some deck screws or the fasteners used for MDF might work.

I’ve seen silicone caulk used. Test it on the foam first. You can probably lay a bead at every other tie. Liquid Nails is another possibility but not as easy to undo. I think your looking more at gluing than traditional fasteners for this application.

Just ballast the track to the roadbed if the roadbed seems to be holding to the plaster cloth well enough.
