Scenes from the Kootenay Valley Railway, Part 2

The CP passes by a dam just east of Castlegar, B.C., on its way to Trail. Castlegar was a junction between the southern mainline to Spences Bridge/Hope and a southern branch to the smelter operations at Trail.

I have to wonder though, with the rail work they’ve been doing (the CWR train that’s been spotted all around the area) is the time of the Sd40-2s coming to an end here? It’s a pretty unique area, though it must be hard to deal with all the 10MPH slow zones.
