Sceniking

Evening all,

in process of working on layout backdrop and found this site that has some that I could use to fill in the gaps. Question is has anyone ever bought from them before? I know they are out of Canada. I found some that would work just fine and cut my work in half.

Thanks,

Gary

I used them on the old layout and I think there stuff is pretty good I might order from them for one scen on the new layout but haven’t gotten that far yet.

My only issue would be that most of their offerings seem to be only 7.5" high, and even with their “Sky Kit” you can only get to about 14.5". My backdrops are all taller than that.

The 7.5 inch height is no problem. The top blue sky on most of the SceniKing sequential sections, is uniform. I have used Sceniking all the way around my 24’x24’ HO layout, with good results. Take a section of SceniKing to the paint store to have them match the top blue.color. I painted my backdrop above the 7" mark and applied glue stick from a giant glue stick, to the primed Luan walls. No bleeding, no smear, no peeling, after 2 years. You can add more clouds to the scene, if you so desire, with a dry brush technique. Bob Hahn

Note that the N scale track is directly behind the HO track, on a rough grey 2"x2",and with the SceniKing panorama of distant low hills, it give good “forced perspective”. I have used urban scenes, and their farm scenes with good results.

At least for the suburban/rural backdrops. The urban/industrial are available at 13" incorporating more sky and clouds. There primary advantage is the ability to “seamlessly” extend the backdrop element into another backdrop element.
