Scratch building textures

A while ago I found a website that sells a CD-ROM of textures, windows & doors etc for scratch building models . Stupidly I didn’t book-mark the site and for the life of me, I can’t find this site again.

Can anybody suggest a link please?

There are also many sites with free texture downloads

Evan Design (website) sells CD’s with textures, windows, etc. on them.

There is an extensive textures website here

Good luck finding what you want.

Thanks very much, the Evan Design is the site I was after. Have you any experience in using this software?

I love Evan’s Software and have made many Items with it. Everything we work with has it’s place on the layout and so does Evans. Doug

Here are 2 links that might help. You can find all kinds of windows, doors, signs ect. online. I save these in a file and make up my own buildings buy combining the textures, windows, doors in MS Publisher.

I forgot about Evans design when I posted the links to Clever and Scalescenes.

I have the program and have sucessfully created buildings with it. Some of the building on their web site, uploaded by users, are very nice.

The program has some severe limitations. It uses a proprietary format. Its library of textures and details (doorswindows, etc) is limited. However, it does allow imports. Prior to importing, details may need to be modified in another program to be usable. You cannot change the colors in the program.

I think the textures available from Clever and ScaleScenes and even some of the free ones from the net are generally better .

I have had problems with files getting corrupted and the scale sometimes appears to be off.

A PhotoShop type program is more flexible and , with some experience, actually easier to use. I use Paint Shop Pro. GIMP (a free program) used by a lot of paper modelers appears to be very good.

This is a good site for creating brickworks in different scales: http://paperbrick.co.uk/index.php?action=home

I have never used their software, but I love their flickering fire LED’s. I have 4 of them.

I’ve met one of the owners, and she is a terrific person, full of ideas for how you can detail your layout.
