Scratch built GE 25-ton

It started with brass sheets.

The engine has got an ESU Loksound micro decoder, with a “shoehorn” For the sanded LEDs I’ve used SMD resistors. The driving unit came from http://www.hollywoodfoundry.com/.

And here’s the video. Enjoy it!

I have two people I’m trying to involve in MRing. This I have to point them to…TNX!![tup]

Now I know what to do with some loose flapping brass pieces…[:-^]

W:

Gosh, you don’t realize just how SMALL this thing is until it hooks up with that twin hopper!

Very nice work. There was an article in MR, a few years back, about scratchbuilding one of these in brass, as I recall.

Who doesn’t like critters?

[:-^]

Wolfgang,

It is always a pleasure to see your work, (skill) (talent).

You are an inspiration to many. [bow]

Thank you for sharing, and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Johnboy out…

Thats a great looking critter alright,

BTW NICE layout in the video!

Nice little critter! You always have the best camera work in your videos![tup]

Modelling and video are great, and I hesitate to even mention the following. But there were a couple things that could possibly be improved upon.

The first involves the captions. Is it possible to use a smaller font, and position the captions off to the side so that they don’t block the action as much?

Second, you have a collection of cars in operation that don’t seem to be of the same era. You might want to consider having like age cars on the railroad, at least when you are doing the videos.

Finally, that engineer guy. I think the guy in the cab always sounds like a good idea, but then he is facing the wrong way at least 50% of the time. This was especially distracting when the engine was coming to a coupling.

Again, everything else was great, and I am only throwing out these couple comments in a (hopefully) friendly manner.

Regards

maxman, you’re right. I have to learn something. With windows movie maker for a smaller BETTER placed text.

Some friends have told me about the cars, too. But - taking videos is just during “my operation”. I run trains for me and a take a vid. I have to learn about the cars and their era. This was a mistake I made when I had no knwoledge. I bought e.g. a milk reefer.

I weathered this car and I like it. It’s hard to overcome to put this car for the rest of the life in a box. Or to sell it.

I should at least with videos take a better look. I already though about this, to reduce the cars with wrong era.

Well, the engineer blocks the look into the cab. The cab is full !!

Thank you

Wolfgang
