Save yourself some grief, pick up one of Sheepscot Scale Models boom kits:

http://tinyurl.com/b25lg

$20.00 will get you an etched brass boom that you can assemble.

I bookmarked that site, thanks for sharing it Bob!

I cut some crossmembers

and its slow work but it may make a nice tower
we have a few on I93

well I did say LATE

whats that security guard up too
oh no… we have a jumper

Budliner,

If I’m not mistaken, the above diagram drawing is the Krull 10000, the worlds largest tower crane. I’ve seen it on TLC Monster machines, friggin huge crane. Kibri makes tower crane kits in HO scale. Much easier than trying to scratch build one.

That’s quite an undertaking to scratch build one. Are you building a tower or crawler crane ? Kibri makes both types , I think kibri web address is http//:www.kibri.com or I have a link to peach creek shops. John at peach creek has many kibri kits listed at a reduced price and tons of scratch building supplies. Below is the link to peach creek shops, he has about six pages of kibri vehicles.

hello dragon
I dont know it can go any witch way

what do you think
hey the guard is up there now

The main span is rather large for a crawler crane, unless you were to make a Demag12000CC crawler crane. The demag 12000CC is the worlds largest crawler crane, I’ll have to find a pic of this monster.

Your build reminds me of tower crane…I say go with tower crane. But its your build, with that boom, it would be one heck of a crawler crane, should you chose to build it.

thats it now we are going to make it a tower crane

I like it

needs paint

Slight typo…its a Demag 12600CC is the worlds largest.

Below is a link to three pictures of it.
