Scratchbuild a small factory

Also the link to Great Model Railroads 2011 does not work.

I tied to print it using photo shop so I could scale it for O Scale and I found out the Pdf is password protected so you can’t scale the printout.

So now I have to print it out at N scale, scan it to a jpeg and then print it out using photo shop so I can scale it.

As far as the article is concerned I am a big fan and I consider Brooks Stover a friend and he has been most helpful in the past.

Nice schematics- Sounds like something that can be a challenging project.

Great free plan.

I really like this building, but the plans and article show only three sides. Any chance we could see the fourth, or does it not have one?

No “Z” scale prints. This is a model Train Web site and there are “Z” scale people out here!!! That Build Building for there layouts.

I have operated on Brook’s layout a number of times and his scratch built buildings are truly inspirational. I love the low cost method he employs to make unique structures of any design he chooses, many representing actual prototype buildings on the BC&G RR. I applaud any scratch builders who are ready to share their techniques. If you get a chance to visit this S-scale layout, don’t miss the opportunity.

All dementions are there, all you need is a scale ruler.

For Z Scale, use the ratio 160/220 to convert N to Z

In terms of what we might want to see in addition to views of hidden sides, I’d like to see a set of vector formatted drawings - either SVG or DXF format - so that we might use either a CNC desktop mill or vinyl cutter to make the pieces required to build the factory.

Hurray for MRR magazine. The scratchbuild article included herein is a major factor in my buying the magazine. The scaled drawings are a great feature I have enjoyed for 40+ years. You can’t include enough of them per issue. I collect out-of-print issues and scan the articles (including the building plans) and save them on my computer to be printed and built later.

Great looking building but how about the 4th side?

On Sullivan Mfg, where is front elevation? Looks like it would be fun and challenge to build!

Great plan! However, I’m with Mr. Robert Ey from New Jersey. I would like if possible to have a fourth side. I don’t think I could design a suitable one on my own.

I don’t understand everything Mr. Beckham said but does this mean I need to know some kind of magic to print this out in HO scale?

My first download, and I’ll put it to good use - on my Tallulah Falls Railway.

I love it.

Love it. Many thanks to Brooks Stover and MR for making this very nice industry available to all modelers.
Best of all, I’ve seen the model structure on the layout, and I’m a friend of the real Paul Sullivan.

hi there…thanks for the drawing. I am going to give it a go. Is this really in N Scale? I’ve printed it 1:1 and it seems large to me?

Thank you for this Modeling project, many of us [pensioners] are thankful for any thing that is passed our way that we can model for our layout.
