Scratchbuild and cigar boxes

Some may have tried this or not, but my local smoke shop has supplied me with some handy meterial.
After years of dreaming about MRR last year i started. Am doing N scale and injoy it. I love scratchbuilding and have found cigar boxes make a nice inner frame for this. I cut down to size I want, take srip basswood and build frame attached to outside of box. N scale being so small this makes it easy to keep plumb and square.
Another thing I use is the ceder liners from the boxes. Makes great siding and is less than one thirtysecond thick. Takes weathering great it gives the buildings that old weather beaten look.

I’ve heard of using cigar box liners before, as roofing shingles.
