Scratchbuilding an Electric Arc Furnace

I ran a thread similar to this in the past, but I am starting a new one so that the anti-old thread police don’t come after me[*-)]

I want to scratchbuild an electric arc funace based on the Erie Forge and Steel. First, I need some help identifying some of the buildings and parts of the furnace.

These are some pictures I found on the internet of the EAF. I am guessing that the large gray building is the actual funace while the tan one on the left with all the pipes running to it is a baghouse. Can anyone confirm?

Has anyone built an elctric arc funace like this? How much space does it take up? Pictures, tips, and pointers are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Edit: for the last link it is in the tweleth reply down.

Well your last picture is of basic oxygen furnaces (BOF) and I don’t think the others are of arc furnaces either. They are probably of a cast house with three cupola furnaces to provide molten iron or steel for castings. Arc furnaces use overhead cranes and 100% scrap for charging and woudn’t have the raw material conveyer system that one does. In HO that building would scale to at least 12 actual feet long and in all probability bigger.
